texas old 'em

tonight we're having the second annual 24 person $20 buy in texas hold 'em tournament at my house and let me tell you how excited i'm not. at first, i was the biggest poker instigator. now that i have about $40 to my name and this new trend is getting really old really fast. last year at the tournament they started at 9:00 and ended at 8:00 in the morning. it was really pretty annoying if you wanted to go to bed. drunken young adults with sunglasses on presume they have the God-given right to be loud and obnoxious. don't get me wrong - this is not to say that if one of my friends paid for my buy in...i would be there. that's right. i would sell out. i talk a big game, but when it comes down to it, it's all about the benjamins, baby. right?

thar's a snake in my boot...ok...my house

so this guy we know asked if we would snake sit for him b/c he couldn't keep him in the dorm anymore. unbeknownst to him it would take my roommates and i less than 12 hours to allow this 4 foot eyesore to escape in the comfort of our own home. we found him late last night huddled behing a couch looking pissed off at the world, but it did make walking through the house alot more exciting.

so i got back from haiti on wednesday and i have to tell you...america makes me sick sometimes. don't get me wrong, i'm thankful to live here, but seeing all of the rich kids driving around in their bmw's and range rovers kill me. some people have no idea what is going on in the world.

anyways, let's talk about glass half full stuff. i got a banjo for christmas and i've been rockin out on that lately. mainly playing guster and indigo girls stuff...as much as that's considered rockin out, i guess.

that's all for now. stay tuned.
